This beautiful end terrace period holiday property is situated in the centre of the popular border town of Hay-on-Wye and within walking distance of its amenities. World renowned for books and bookshops and its literary festival, it also has a renovated castle, traditional markets with local produce, art galleries, antique and independent shops, great gastro pubs, restaurants and cafés. There is much on offer in the great outdoors with fishing, horse riding, cycle and canoe hire all available locally. Wonderful walking area with two long distance footpaths, namely Offa’s Dyke Path and the Wye Valley Walk, both with stunning scenery of the beautiful border country. Brecon, Builth Wells and the cathedral city of Hereford are all within easy driving. You’ll find a small children’s play park within walking distance as well as stunning riverside walks, close to the riverside beach, The Warren. On road parking is also available should there be more than 1 car. There is a hairdryer at the property. Shop and restaurant 275 yards, pub 165 yards.

We enjoyed a wonderful week at court house and were blessed with fantastic weather! The location was excellent and we enjoyed riverside walks, hay market and swimming at the warren all just short walks from the front door. Further afield we enjoyed the waterfall walk in Brecon and pen y fan and sugar loaf. The house was large and spacious and very well equipped for the 7 of us (4 adults and 3 teens). The garden, whilst small, was perfect for us and was an added bonus with us eating in the garden several times. We would definitely recommend as a wonderful place to stay.

The Court House is a charming and thoughtfully-presented holiday home. We had a lovely time: grandparents, parents and 3 children aged from 4-8 plus one small but lively dog. •Comfortable beds? Yes, in quiet bedrooms.•Well-equipped kitchen? Yes, all the necessary tools for food preparation are provided, plus plenty of crockery and cutlery and an efficient dish-washer.•Useful garden? Yes, the garden is small but peaceful, furnished with chairs, table and parasol. It is also 100% dog-proof. •Family-friendly? Yes, including slip mat in the bath and a stair gate. Access is easy and safe through the back door and garden gate. There’s a nice little swing park up the road and the R Wye is accessible at the Warren, footpath almost opposite the house.Hay-on-Wye is of course full of interest, as is the surrounding countryside. I’m sure we will be booking another holiday at the Court House soon.

Lovely spacious cottage in a perfect location. Beautiful riverside walks and Hay high street on your doorstep.Really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return/recommend (a deep clean, fresh pillows and some attention to the garden would have made it perfect). We were lucky enough to have some beautiful weather but could not enjoy the garden as it was quite overgrown.
