Beautifully restored, it blends authentic period character with modern comforts, including Wi-Fi, creating the perfect retreat for couples, families and friends.
The cottage enjoys open views towards Uldale Fell and has a lawned garden that leads directly into the surrounding woodland and estate grounds. Guests are free to explore the estate, including walks to Binsey Fell, while keeping an eye out for the abundant local wildlife, including red squirrels and deer.
Inside, the cottage offers spacious, welcoming accommodation centred around a traditional Lakeland fireplace, while providing all the comforts needed for a relaxing stay. Heating, electricity, gas, bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi, a cot and a highchair are all included.
Ideally located between Keswick and Cockermouth, Laundry Cottage is perfectly placed for discovering the northern Lake District, with excellent walking and cycling routes beginning right from the doorstep.

House is beautiful and very well equipped. Garden is fantastic. However, the Stairs are dangerous. Yes they're steep but the carpet on them makes it worse. I fell top to bottom on our 1st morning there and have damaged my coxis and back My mum slipped down 6 steps and has broken toes. We were extra careful about going down them. There was mould in the upstairs shower room and two of the bedroom windows wouldn't open

We really enjoyed our stay at Laundry Cottage and the hidden gems in the woods...amazing lion's head fountain amongst many other relics from the original estate.The surrounding countryside is stunning.No local amenities nearby so guests should stock up well in advance.

Beautiful location/place, and good value. Would certainly come again. Interesting estate/building/family-history albums, albeit not updated for a couple of decades, which rightly/wrongly implies some sadnes behind the scenes, but that's life. Would have been useful to have some instructions about how to work the appliances and heating - found some twenty plus year old instructions for the previous heating system in a random kitchen drawer, but no new instructions in a relevant place, so just had to figure it out by trial and error. The previous generation obviously did most of the work and the current generation have gone relatively hands off for whatever, likely understandable, reason, but I'm very grateful that they kindly still make this enchanting place available for short term let. A few other minor/negligible isues, but the brilliance of this place offsets them easily. Definitely a 9/10 place. Very quiet. Very relaxing.
