No smoking.. Laundry Cottage and gardens are set within a large private estate in an outstanding position with its own car park. It is within easy reach of the market towns of Keswick and Cockermouth.
The property provides exceptionally comfortable and spacious accommodation. It is fully modernised and has Wi-Fi internet access and yet retains traditional features. The views are stunning, making this property an idyllic holiday location for adults, children and also dogs. The sitting room features an ornamental, traditional Lakeland fireplace and views over the gardens to Udale Fell. The gardens are continuous with the grounds of Ireby Grange Estate and there are no defining borders as a result. Guests are free to walk around the Estate which also includes Binsey Fell. The garden area is a haven for wildlife and the property is ideally placed to walk and explore.
There are many walking and cycling opportunities to be had from the door including easy access to Binsey Fell which provides a thrilling viewpoint from the summit. There is interest wildlife to be seen in close proximity including deer, and red squirrels.

We had a wonderful time at Laundry Cottage. It is spacious yet cozy, and everyone found it very comfortable. The cottage is well equipped and feels genuinely lived in. Having views over the hills from the bedroom windows was a real treat.It is quiet and remote, with the nearest shop about 20 minutes away (at a garage- I put an average score for local amenities as poor would have been harsh). This was perfect for us and exactly what we were looking for. There were a couple of very minor things that could use attention, but nothing that would stop us from returning to this delightful cottage.

The cottage was remote and in stunning countryside. It was a really peaceful getaway. The house itself was quirky with character. The house had most things we needed. There was an isue with some of the electrics on arrival which meant there was no hearing on and some sockets did not work but we managed to find the trip switch to sort this. Some of the furnishings were a little tired and stained and could do with a bit of a spruce up. The place was well cleaned but these furnishings made it look like they were not clean. Bedrooms were spacious and the beds were really comfy. Plenty of toilets, shower and bath. Not the most powerful shower. Outdoor area was spacious and some lovely walks around the house. Stairs are very steep. Both my daughter and I slipped down them so we all needed to take great care after that. We really enjoyed our stay.

The property has great potential but needs attention for a 5 star review. The property needs updating with a fresh coat of paint and either a deep cleaning of upholstery on ALL furniture or new covers altogether. The fabric on the seating was filthy and smelt musty. Whoever does the laundry for the bed linen and towels needs sacking as it all stunk! Some extra TLC would be a nice touch like shampoo’s for example. The kettle was rusty which is a law suit waiting to happen and many light bulbs didn’t work. It shows that the property isn’t cared for or checked properly by owners or management team. Location for us was perfect as it’s out of the way and so peaceful. Very spacious property too. If they update these points then we would stay again.
