On entry to the cottage we were hit by a strong smell of cigarette smoke, this is most likely caused by people not closing the back kitchen double doors when smoking in the rear garden. The carpets had black bits which were throughout the property, there was residue bits of food left on the kitchen table and also near the fire place in the front room. The extractor hood over the cooker needed a complete clen and the micro wave was also in need of a clean. We wanted to cook a meal but the cooking trays in the cupboard were un-usable. Only three bath towels and one hand towel is not enough for four adults during a three night stay and just one part toilet roll left for four people. The property itself was reasonable in many aspects such as comfortable beds, good heating system and showering facilities and comfortable furniture in the front room. The location was central to Cockermouth and ideally placed for the surrounding area.

Cottage was lovely and close to Aldi and town centre. Beds are comfortable. However I found 2 dishes in the cupboard that still had food on them, and a half packet of biscuits in the cupboard, there was only 3 pans and as we were there for Christmas presented a bit of a challenge. There's 3 keys but only 1 works with a bit of fiddling. The stairs and floor boards creak so loud I thought we'd wake the neighbours. Unfortunately these comments have been reported before but nothing has been done to correct it. With more attention to detail and decent cleaners it would be perfect.

Perfect location to Cockermouth and within walking distance of all shops, cafes and restaurants. Cosy living room with TV and recliner chairs, only downside was no Wifi. No point having a smart TV when Netflix cant be accesed. Would be happy to stay here for a long weekend again.
