Exactly what we were looking for. Well recommended. Not much to do round about but a good base for exploring. And the dog 🐕 loved it.

We had a very comfortable stay, the lodge had everything we needed, there is plenty of parking and pleasant views across the road, cockermouth is a short drive away with plenty of shops and restaurants etc. There are many local attractions within the area including the nearby wildlife park, Maryport with it's aquarium and Roman museum etc.The garden centre next door has a nice coffee shop and the Greyhound pub is a short drive away and is a very friendly local with good food.

We enjoyed our time at the property. It felt like a home from home very quickly. We also liked the smart tv because it was newer and fancier than what we have at home. The toilet seat was loose so going to the loo was a bit of an adventure each time!
