1 Lonsdale House is a well-located and comfortable holiday rental in Keswick, appreciated for its convenience and cosiness. Guests have praised the property's easy access to local amenities and the town centre, as well as the comfort of the beds. While some guests have noted areas for improvement, the property generally provides a satisfactory stay.
Cleanliness has received mixed feedback. Some guests reported the need for a deeper clean, particularly in the kitchen and bathrooms, while others found the property to be clean and uncluttered. The presence of black mould and dirty surfaces in one review suggests room for improvement.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to local transport, supermarkets, and the town centre. The quietness of the area and ease of access from the M6 are also appreciated, making it an excellent base for exploring the Lakes.
Comfort is a strong point for this property, with multiple reviews highlighting the comfortable beds and sofas. The ground floor layout is beneficial for those with limited mobility, and the property is generally seen as cosy and welcoming.
Facilities are generally good, with an equipped kitchen and the convenience of an allocated parking space. However, some guests noted minor issues such as a small TV, the need for wine glasses, and worn dining chairs. The swift response to a fridge problem indicates attentive maintenance.
There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess this category. As such, the score is set to null.

The apartment is very basic. However the beds and sofa’s are comfortable. On arrival I had to clean the kitchen as there was grease and food splashes on the tiles near the hob. (Not much in the way of cleaning products provided) The cupboard doors were dirty and the glass on the door between the kitchen and lounge was dirty with fingerprints The fridge door and washing machine door do not join and therefore every time you went into the fridge you had to open the washing machine door before closing the fridge door or the fridge door would not close properly. It felt that the kitchen and bathrooms all needed a deep clean, lots of black mould on sealant and plastic bathmat in bathroom. Basics were also missing. Salt and pepper which is usually a standard consisted of what appeared to be sachets taken from Weatherspoons. The television is too small for the lounge, Unsure how this is classed as 4 stars, when I have stayed in 3 star accommodation in the same block which was a real home from home.Very disappointed, considering the cost.

Well presented apartment. Well located close to buses and supermarket. Would be more than happy to stay again.

I took my 90yr old mother, who has limited mobility and alzheimer's for a 3-night break. 1 Lonsdale House proved to be an excellent stay for her. The layout is compact, clean, uncluttered, and simple. All on groundfloor. The main bedroom has ensuite facility which was perfect for Mum. Location is excellent; I was surprised how quiet it was. I could easily walk around Keswick without being away too long. Booths supermarket is just round corner and has excellent range of special holiday treats. Access from M6 is simple and access to the Lakes was perfect with lots of options. Mum used a 'walker' around the flat without problems (though it is tight in places). Access from the parking bay is short and through a few doors. Parking bay is tight, so care needs to be taken manuouvring your car. It's an end bay just by the entrance, so passenger door can be parked by pavement allowing good access for someone needing assistance in/out of car. Beds were so comfortable, I made a note of the matress: I want one! Mum was very happy despite her forgetfulness. She would love to visit again.
