Guests say

Brundholme Glen is praised for its excellent location near Keswick's centre and its suitability for dog owners, with an enclosed garden and ample parking. While the property is recognised as a good value base for exploring the area, guests suggest it would benefit from modernisation and attention to maintenance.

The property was generally found to be clean and tidy upon arrival. However, there were isolated reports of unclean drawers and a dusty living room blind, suggesting room for improvement in thoroughness.

The cottage's location is consistently highlighted as a major positive, being a short walk from Keswick's centre and leisure facilities, making it an ideal spot for visitors.

Guests found the furniture comfortable and the heating adequate, but several noted the beds were very firm and not to their liking, indicating a mixed experience with comfort.

While the kitchen was well-stocked and heating effective, numerous minor maintenance issues such as leaking taps, a noisy freezer, and ineffective vacuum cleaner were reported, suggesting a need for better upkeep.

There is insufficient information to assess thoughtfulness as there are no mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate the owners' consideration for guests' experiences.

Starting with the positives: Location is excellent and there is sufficient parking with the option of using the garage at busy times. Five minutes walk from centre of Keswick and the leisure centre at bottom of the street. Backs onto the river so make sure gate is closed if taking dogs. Also take earplugs if you are light sleeper as the double room backs onto the river and garage and main road noise can be an issue. No problem if using bedrooms at the front. TVs in each bedroom and the heating and hot water was great and needed at this time in January with plenty of radiators for drying wet clothing. Kitchen well stocked with equipment. Now for the not so good: furniture is very dated, mattresses very very firm, bed linen and towels not great quality and quite worn. Take your own soap and shower gel. Not sure if this is the norm with dog friendly properties but there was a slight dog smell. Plugs in bathroom were snapped and not attached to the chains. Drawers in one bedroom not cleaned out with empty crisp packets and drinks cartons inside, packaging from air freshener and loo roll etc left in bathroom cabinet. All in all would recommend as a cheap base if sharing with others, and taking dogs and just using as a base for a long weekend.

Great location, only a short walk into the centre of Keswick. 3 good size rooms too

Great location but a very basic property with minimal effort from the owners/managers. Numerous minor issues and a lack of any of the normal extras you should expect in a holiday cottage. For example, kitchen poorly stocked, leaking bath, no visitor book or much information, no welcome pack (just tea bags and milk would've been appreciated). With a little TLC, this would have been a great cottage. We still had a lovely time but doesn't compare well to others nearby.
