Keswick's market square is just a ten-minute level walk and here the twice weekly award-winning market draws visitors and locals alike. This lovely town has a vibrant, bustling atmosphere with a great selection of bars, cafes and restaurants and shops of all kinds. There are also many outdoor and waterborne adventures to choose from, with the nearby lake of Derwentwater offering regular cruises and activities for all ages. You’re in the heart of the high fells here, so choose from an all-day hike, or a potter around the lakeshore, either way you’ll be surrounded by breath-taking beauty. Latrigg Fell is a lovely walk from the front door, or head to the summit of Skiddaw – the 5th highest peak in the Lake District.

Keswick, the popular holiday town in the north of the Lake District, has something to offer visitors at any time of year. The town has a variety of shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing, and excellent mountain biking opportunities, and the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. The magnificent Newlands Valley is close by, between Braithwaite and Buttermere, and the scenic Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. There's something for everyone, from a quiet countryside stroll to a tough walk up Skiddaw or the famed Catbells.
