A lovely semi detached holiday house set in a quiet location in this wonderful little village in the heart of the Lake District National Park. The perfect location for exploring the area. 2 steps to entrance.

Portinscale itself is a peaceful village, just a short walk from the bustling market town of Keswick. From here, you can explore the stunning landscapes of the Lake District National Park, with walking and cycling trails right on your doorstep. Derwentwater is within easy reach, where you can enjoy boat trips, kayaking, and scenic lakeside walks. For keen hikers, the surrounding fells include the famous Catbells and the breathtaking peaks of Skiddaw and Blencathra.

The property was clean and tidy and we really enjoyed the quiet location. It was also within easy walking distance of Keswick, which was very convenient.Tea and coffee already provided which was a lovely touch. Lovely dog walks in the area.The property is advertised as dog-friendly, but there were signs inside the property to state dogs are not allowed upstairs, which is quite restrictive and would be helpful to make clear when booking and advert description. The garden is advertised as enclosed, but there are several gaps and holes in the fencing, meaning it isn’t fully secure for dogs. Can provide images.There is also building works taking place opposite the house from around 8:30am to 4:30pm, which caused some noise during the day. Hopefully this work won’t continue for too much longer.The bathroom window also has very little privacy, as it looks directly towards the builders working on the property opposite. Even with the current privacy glass, you are still clearly visible from the outside which was uncomfortable and would benefit from a suitable blind or better privacy glass. We ended up putting a towel over the window to block the view into the bathroom. We found the beds quite hard, although this is down to personal preference, so other guests may find them perfectly comfortable.

We enjoyed our time at Hindsgarth. Overall the house was lovely, in a good setting with ample parking and a nice back garden. The lack of a blind in the bathroom was odd, and we felt awkward showering with the light on as people passing could see in.But it didn't detract from our lovely stay otherwise. We would certainly book here again.

The house has been refurbished to a very good standard and was very clean. There was plenty of crockery and utensils for when we cooked food to eat in. The house is placed well for a 15-20 minutes walk into Keswick. The only negative we have is that the grass needed cutting. The welcome pack was much appreciated. We hope to book again in the future
