This was our 5th stay at Joan’s Cottage. We have been coming since 2005. It really is a fantastic place to stay. Our only reservation this time was that the mattress had ‘gone’ on one side in the big far bedroom (I guess it needs replacing - hence the ‘good’ rather than ‘excellent’ for comfort). This precipitated one of us sleeping in the single bed. Nevertheless we had a marvellous time! Always a memorable trip.

Beautiful and spacious house next to a beautiful beck. My partner saw red squirrels but I did not! The double mattress in the largest bedroom could do with replacing- poor night sleep on a couple of nights.

We love Joan’s Cottage and this was our 4th Christmas there. The setting is tremendous, cottage is warm and spacious and the kitchen has everything you need. Beds are very comfortable. The sound of the river is very soothing. We find it tricky to get live TV channels there but streaming channels are easy to log in to. A super place with great views and opportunities for asking and relaxing in the local area.
