Guests say

Kiln How is a well-received cottage in Threlkeld, praised for its prime location and cosy atmosphere. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, modern bathroom, and well-equipped kitchen. The log burner adds charm, although the cost of fuel is noted. Some minor issues with maintenance and Wi-Fi are mentioned, but the responsive owners and the property's proximity to local amenities and scenic walks contribute to a positive experience overall.

The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean and fresh, with only a few isolated comments about mildew and cobwebs, and one instance of stale food left in the cupboard. These seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.

The location is highly praised for its stunning views, quiet village setting, and accessibility to local walks, pubs, and Keswick. It is considered ideal for exploring the lakes and enjoying the tranquillity of the area.

Comfort is generally rated highly, with special mentions of comfortable beds and a cosy log burner. However, some guests found the lounge furniture and memory foam mattress less comfortable, slightly affecting the score.

Facilities are well-regarded, especially the modern bathroom and kitchen. Some guests noted the absence of a DVD player and issues with Wi-Fi and TV reception. The need for a stair gate for pets and a few kitchen items were also mentioned.

While many reviews comment on the helpfulness of the owners and the well-equipped nature of the cottage, there are no specific mentions of gifts or extra thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category.

However, the only critisism is of the memory foam mattress in the bedroom at the back of the house which has one channel each side where people have always slept and a ridge in the middle . Will definitely come back again.

Katie and Graham are great hosts and ensured our stay was second to none. Thank you.

The kitchen had everything you would need and well equipped. A walk from the door by the stream which our dog loved and close to pub and coffee shop for meals. Would benefit from an outside light as path is very dark, also a handle near the door to help get up and down the two steps. All in all a a very pleasant stay in a lovely cottage.
