Millie's Cottage in Keswick is highly praised for its excellent location, being just a short walk from the town centre and Derwent Water. Guests consistently mention the cottage is well-equipped, comfortable, and ideal for families. The modern kitchen and bathrooms are appreciated, and the property is described as warm and cosy. While most reviews highlight cleanliness, a few guests noted occasional lapses such as damp towels or missed spots. Parking can be tricky due to narrow streets, but this is generally outweighed by the cottage's many positives. Overall, guests would happily return and recommend it to others.
Most guests found the cottage clean and well-presented, with several describing it as spotless. However, a few reviews mention issues such as damp or stained towels, missed cleaning under sofa cushions, and some areas (like the top bedroom or floors) not being thoroughly cleaned. These occasional lapses bring the score down slightly from excellent.
The location is universally praised, with guests loving the proximity to Keswick town centre, Derwent Water, and local amenities. The only minor drawback mentioned is the challenge of on-street parking, but this does not detract significantly from the overall positive impression.
Guests consistently describe the cottage as comfortable, warm, and quiet, with good-sized bedrooms and living areas. The modern bathrooms and well-equipped kitchen add to the comfort, and the property is suitable for families and groups. Occasional comments about narrow kitchen space or low ceilings on the top floor are noted but do not significantly impact overall comfort.
The cottage is frequently described as very well-equipped, with modern appliances, an air fryer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and plenty of utensils. Guests appreciate the attention to detail and the presence of games and information about the area. Minor issues such as a faulty cafetiere, a broken fridge (quickly replaced), and limited dishwasher tablets were mentioned but generally resolved or considered minor.
Guests note thoughtful touches such as games, local information, and a well-equipped kitchen. However, there is no mention of welcome gifts or extras beyond standard amenities. Some guests would have appreciated more dishwasher tablets or complimentary toiletries. Please note that any gifts or extras, if provided, are not guaranteed.

We loved our stay at Millie’s. It was a great location and had all the basics that you would need. We did however feel the property wasn’t cleaned fully on our arrival. The floors hadn’t been hoovered properly if at all and there were lots of long black hairs all over the carpet which my crawling baby kept finding and getting stuck to. Other than this it was great.

I loved my stay at Millie's Cottage, booked at two days' notice due to last minute heatwave-related travel changes. It was comfortable, clean and so quiet! At times all I could hear was birdsong. Nice kitchen and bathrooms, and lots of greenery out of the back window. And just a short walk from the town centre. I found it odd that the email said 'There are open, steep, spiral or narrow stairs at the property' but there was no picture of them. Sadly, though, I can't give 5 stars due to the state of the towels. I could barely find one that wasn't stained in various ways, short of going through every single one in the house. Happily, this is easily rectified (I hope!), so I don't hesitate to recommend Millie's as a place to stay.

Great little holiday cottage. Perfect for our family of Mum, Dad and 2 grown up kids.It is located a short walk from the town centre and about a 15 minute walk from the Lakeshore. The modern kitchen is extremely well equipped, although is narrow, so one person cooking at a time. The bathroom and shower room are modern and clean.
