Built in 1893, Poachers’ Cottage is adjacent to the local inn, a traditional Lakeland hostelry which serves both real ale and bar meals. The location is convenient on several other fronts, the local café is across the road, its situated only 200 yards from the A66 for easy access, 400 yards from the start of the Latrigg/Skiddaw walk and a 10 minutes stroll through the park to Keswick town centre. The cottage is suitable for couples and small families on a walking holiday, seeking comfortable accommodation at an affordable price.

This was our second stay here. Great location - approximately 10 mins walk through the park into centre of Keswick. Comfortable and clean with well equipped kitchen. Private parking space is a bonus as road outside is quite busy both with passing traffic and cars parked up. Double bedroom is very small but as there's only 2 of us staying we use the twin for storing our clothes, getting dressed etc and just use double for sleeping in. Downstairs could do with a blind/net curtain as you do get a lot of people walking past and looking in! Lots of nice shops, cafe's, pubs, walks etc in Keswick itself and plenty to do in the area. Lovely pub food next door but recommended you book.

poachers is comfortable , convenient for Keswick and for going further in the area .weigh the pros and cons , being a little removed from town but within walking distance , space for parking 2 cars , also handy for the pub next door .
