Guests say

Royal Views offers a well-located and spacious flat in Keswick, appreciated for its central position and ample cooking equipment. While some guests found the property to be clean and comfortable, others noted areas in need of refurbishment and maintenance, particularly concerning damp and mould issues.

Mixed feedback on cleanliness, with some guests satisfied and others noting dust, stains, and crumbs. Mould and damp were significant concerns, affecting the overall perception of cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for its centrality and convenience to town amenities, despite some noise due to its proximity to bars and early morning deliveries.

Guests found the bed and sofa comfortable, though personal preferences on mattress softness varied. The presence of storage heaters and hot water added to the comfort level.

Facilities are generally good, with a well-stocked kitchen and effective heaters. However, maintenance issues like outdated welcome instructions, WiFi problems, and the need for redecoration affect the score.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

I have stayed a number of times in the apartment above and have always given five star reviews. Unfortunately that apartment was unavailable so I booked this apartment. I had read the reviews regarding mould etc after booking and therefore my expectations were low.Good points:Great location, included parking just around the corner, kitchen well stocked for self catering and for me the bed was comfortable.Areas for improvement:Shower needs a deep clean. There is no excuse for the amount of black slim on the shower lead, shower head and shower switches. The shower was filthy. As previous reviews highlighted, there is mould throughout the apartment. The bedroom window is difficult to close. You have to lift the bottom left hand corner up with some effort to close it.On entering the apartment the bathroom door was closed. On opening the door I was overcome with fumes. Unsure if it was as glue, paint, or a vinegar based cleaning product (possibly used for the mould). Had to keep the bathroom door open, the bedroom window open and the bathroom extractor fan on for the whole four day stay. Smell was bearable from day three onwards. For first two days had to wear a Covid mask when showering!Given that some of the issues have been highlighted by other reviewers, I am really surprised that cottages.com continue to list the apartment, especially at the same price as the five star apartment above. I will certainly look at other booking sites in the future.

Lovely little apartment for location and parking having stayed a number of times now but the property is in need of a full refurb having lost its attention to detail and love. Had issues with the WiFi which the previous guests had too - won’t be staying again.

Small, but nice flat, located in the centre of Keswick.Minimal decor. but comfortableMain picture is slightly deceptive as the property is actually off a side road on Lake road and does not enjoy the view shown.Bed very comfortable and kitchen equipment goodOnly faults were we were unable to get WIFI, despite reporting it on our second day, hopefully fixed now, and the fridge has no ice compartment..
