Within 15 mins you are also at the tip of Lake Windermere at Newby Bridge where you enjoy a trip from Haverthwaite by steam train to the tip of Windermere Lake where you can embark on a Lakeland cruise and see this breath taking area from the water to Bowness and Ambleside .Also just 20 mins drive is the pretty village of Cartmel with the ancient 12th century priory, home also to the UK ‘s smallest race course which has meets throughout the summer and the Michelin L'enclume restaurant as well as artisan food shops, cafes and vintage shops. Ulverston is famous for its street markets and festivals, and boasts a wide range of shops, pubs and leisure facilities.
