Soak up your surroundings and pop open a bottle of fizz as you debrief on the day’s events so far or plan for the one’s ahead. If the evening grows cooler, retreat to a homely living/dining and cosy up in front of the roaring woodburning stove, ready to relish a movie marathon or catch up on your favourite shows on the Smart TV. Locally, Grizedale Forest's wonderful wooded trails, Coniston Old Man, and Wetherlam offer excellent hiking, mountain biking, and climbing opportunities. For those who appreciate water activities, the calm lake is perfect for canoeing and dinghy sailing, while those who are less energetic can take a leisurely ride aboard the lovely steam boat "Gondola" or visit Brantwood, the old residence of John Ruskin. The Beatrix Potter Gallery is located in the award-winning community of Hawkshead, which is also close to Tarn Hows, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the nation, and Esthwaite Water, a popular fishing place.
