About this property

Sunny Brae is a lovely, detached house nestled in Lindale, just on the edge of Cumbria. With its feature stone walls and beautifully-presented rooms, this property is near the Lake District National Park and sleeps six, making it perfect for large families and groups wanting to discover the wonders of the Lake District. Be welcomed into a nicely-decorated dining room, where you'll be able to enjoy your meals and play games round the spacious table, then step into the farmhouse style kitchen and show off your culinary exploits. Curl up on one of the plush sofas or armchairs in the living room and watch your favourite show on the Smart TV as the woodburning stove warms you up; if you can’t agree on what to watch, make use of the furnished snug on the second floor which has another Smart TV. During warmer months, enjoy the sun out on the furnished, terraced garden, with plenty of space for the children to play and run around. After a long day out, unwind with a bath or shower in one of two bathrooms, then catch your sleep in either a super-king-sized or two king-sized rooms, all boasting scenic views of the neighbourhood and the countryside in the distance. When you don’t feel like cooking head over to The Royal Oak Pub for a hearty meal and take advantage of their outdoor seating when the sun is shining. A short drive will take you to the lovely coastal town of Grange-over-Sands with all of its Victorian and Edwardian elegance, where you can stroll through and picnic in the Ornamental Gardens, visit the ruins of Hampsfell Hospice and walk along the promenade to enjoy views of Morecambe Bay. Head up to the famous town of Bowness-on-Windermere and go to Windermere Jetty Museum where you can take heritage boat trips across Lake Windermere. For a taste of nature hike up to Brant Fell Viewpoint to find breathtaking views of the lake and its surrounding countryside, and if you are travelling with children, make sure to take them to meet Peter Rabbit and his friends at The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction. Alternatively explore the many South Lakeland attractions including Aquarium of the Lakes and Lakeland Motor Museum or take a steam train through the countryside of the Leven Valley from the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway. A wealth of history and activities awaits you at Sunny Brae.

The charming Edwardian resort of Grange-over-Sands is set between the Lake District fells and Morecambe Bay and offers one of the mildest climates in the north of England. Formerly a small fishing village, the introduction of the Furness Railway transformed Grange-over-Sands into a fashionable Edwardian resort. Today, the town has much to offer the visitor including a traffic-free promenade, delightful ornamental gardens, golf courses, brass band concerts and excellent bird watching. Just a short drive away are Lake Windermere (8 miles), the villages of Bowness-on-Windermere and Hawkshead, which still retain the charm and character that has endeared them to so many, and the home of sticky toffee pudding, Cartmel, with its famous racecourse and the L’Enclume restaurant, which has been voted the 4th best restaurant in the UK. Other attractions in the area include Levens Hall, with its Elizabethan Hall and world famous topiary gardens, Holker Hall, Furness Abbey, Sizergh Castle, a National Trust medieval house and gardens, and Conishead Priory, a Gothic revival country house. There is also the 25 mile Cistercian Way which starts at Grange over Sands. Set amidst the southern lakes, the attractive town of Grange-over-Sands makes a superb base from which to enjoy the whole of this magical area.

We enjoyed a very relaxing week with family. There is ample space for everyone! The pictures are very accurate. Beds are very comfortable. Outside space is equally as stunning. Will definitely return.

    Would highly recommend.

Luxurious comfortable beds and the addition of an extra sitting room is a bonus. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need and the gardens are stunning.. we were fortunate to have one evening where we managed to enjoy a drink in the garden before the weather changed. The property has parking space for at least 4 cars, but take care to avoid 1 very steep corner at the bottom of the drive. The village only has a pub in walking distance but it is ideally situated and within a short distance of Grange & Cartmel. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property, we would highly recommend it and we hope to visit again soon .
