Had a really lovely week away staying at Borranside. The location was really good - a short walk from Ambleside with loads of places to eat in the evening and absolutely perfect for getting out and exploring the beautiful countryside. We only went out in the car on 2 days - the rest of the time we chose walks that went directly from the cottage including a walk to Grasmere along the coffin route also taking in Rydal Water and we went up Loughrigg and Wansfell. Cottage is well equipped and comfortable and a great place to come back to at the end of the day
