Ghyll View in Ambleside offers a well-located and comfortable stay with spacious rooms and good facilities. Guests appreciate the property's proximity to local attractions and the town, as well as the cosy and warm atmosphere. Some concerns over cleanliness and maintenance are noted, but overall experiences are positive, with many guests willing to return.
Cleanliness scores are mixed, with several guests noting issues such as dust, cobwebs, and uncleaned areas upon arrival. However, others found the property clean and tidy. The inconsistency leads to a slightly above-average score.
The location is highly praised for its convenience to Ambleside and local facilities, with guests appreciating the ability to walk into town and the proximity to walking trails. The steep walk back is noted but does not detract significantly from the overall positive feedback.
Comfort is generally well-regarded, with guests finding the property warm, cosy, and well-furnished. Some minor issues with shower pressure and noise from other apartments are mentioned, but these do not seem to greatly impact the overall comfort.
Facilities are deemed adequate, with a well-equipped kitchen and good entertainment options. However, maintenance issues such as problematic showers, missing items, and parking challenges are recurring themes that affect the score.
There is insufficient information to assess thoughtfulness as it relates to gifts or special touches provided by the host. No reviews mention gifts, so this category cannot be scored.

it is however spoiled by the management company's poor attention to detail. I will explain: Weird Fish T Shirt, socks and underpants were left in the wardrobe, all dirty. Dirty linen left in the main bedroom basket. No toilet rolls and only found the dishcloth after we bought some since they were wrapped up in the spare bin bag. Radio does not work and did not work last year. Balcony unusable and was unusable last year too, Planning sought in January 2025 but was unusable April 2024 and before. Heating hot upstairs and cold down which is where you need the heating for bathrooms and bedrooms. bath needs the mastic replacing. Cannot find the bins despite touring round to find them. Some bulbs do not work in the lounge and bedroom. Main bedroom shower trickles and cannot was your hair. 3 bedrooms for 6 people and only one parking spot. We have been coming to The Falls for 30 years, initially Heart of the Lakes and this management company is the worst ever, we paid £840 for 6.5 days which is £130 per day. We will not rent this apartment again.

would be nice if the owners could give you access to the Vacuum

This is the 5th property was have stayed in on The Falls development, so we were fully aware of the steep walk down into town. The double parking space was useful and rare in Ambleside. The space would be narrow for a large car, but our Golf estate and Corsa fitted perfectly. The listing made it clear that the balcony is currently out of action but this didnât bother us in February! The only suggestion would be please provide more teaspoons.
