Kilnshaw offers a peaceful location with lovely garden and stunning views, ideal for groups and families. It's a short walk to Ambleside's amenities, though the hill is steep. The property has roomy accommodation and potential for outdoor dining.

The property was generally clean, but there were reports of a dusty garage and a broken glass found in a cupboard. No issues with cleanliness were mentioned in the other reviews.

The location is praised for its proximity to Ambleside and peaceful setting, with easy access to local attractions and walks. The steep hill may be a challenge for some.

The living room furniture is described as dated and not very clean, and the beds were squeaky. However, the spaciousness of the accommodation was appreciated.

Facilities received mixed reviews, with issues such as hot water running out, a leaky shower, and a lack of cleaning products. The potential for table tennis was noted, but the space was cluttered.

No reviews mentioned gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score for this category.

Lovely accomodation, very roomy and great for Ambleside. Parking was a bit difficult and I should imagine if there was a few cars it would be difficult. We did have problems with the hot water and it seemed once the tank of water has been used you have to wait a while for it to re heat. Also the heating was off a few mornings. You also need to take everything with you such as oil, herbs and bin liners so I'm glad I did, as if you don't want to move the car each time and its a steep hill to get back up from the shops! We all did have a lovely time, thankyou

Great location and stunning view with great ability to have meals outside on terrace. We were a bit disappointed on stocking up, no rinse aid or salt for dishwasher which is hard to buy locally. Three washing machine cubes only, the garage was dusty and cramped with things making table tennis difficult in practice but this could have been a great asset on a rainy day. A lack of mirrors was surprising. The inside of the house was clean and utensils all in order. We discovered a broken glass at the back of the cupboard on arrival and the foxes had strewn all the rubbish all over the driveway.

Excellent base for a group of friends or two families. The cottage is fairly basic and a bit tired inside but the location makes it stand out. Being on the edge of Ambleside it’s away from the all tourists and traffic, in a peaceful location with lovely garden. It’s a short walk into Ambleside (although worth noting it’s a steep hill) for cafes, pubs, restaurants and shops. There are many great walks to do straight from the door.
