About this property

Pudding Cottage is a family and dog friendly spacious 5 star property close to Ambleside and Windermere. The property is in a peaceful location at the head of a private lane as part of a group of traditional Lakeland buildings that formed the original coach house and stables for the 1st Earl of Lonsdale. With stunning scenery on your doorstep and a fabulously luxurious and contemporary finish, Pudding Cottage has received multiple awards both locally and nationally. The landscaped communal gardens attract a wide range of wildlife and many a guest has been delighted to spy our resident Jemima Puddle-ducks waiting for breakfast at the back door. Inclusive free leisure club membership is provided for 5 at nearby Choices Health Club at Troutbeck Bridge (approx 1 mile). With added luxury welcome items and toiletries provided, your stay will be relaxing and memorable from the moment you arrive.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.

Area is quiet and can walk direct out on to the hills with the dog. Buses available from he bottom of the lane to the local towns. The cottage was extremely well maintained with every conceivable kitchen gadget. Large rooms all very comfy and constant hot water. Will definitely be coming back again in the future. Well worth its' 5 star status.
