Rossett Holme is a plush, 4 star Gold Award property set in a sleepy central location in Ambleside. This holiday home is finished to exacting standards both inside and out. There’s a chic, enclosed outside seating area for al-fresco living or a starlit glass of wine or two. With Rossett Holme, everything has been designed with the comfort of the guests in mind and so it makes for the perfect place to relax and unwind.
Thoughtfully finished and furnished throughout Rossett Holme has designer, deep cushioned, sumptuous sofas in the open plan lounge, kitchen diner. The apartment sleeps up to eight guests over four beautiful bedrooms, three of which have luxury en suite facilities.
Outside, beyond the private garden, lies the vibrant village of Ambleside with boutique shops, fine eateries, pubs and attractions. Look a little further afield and the heart of the Lake District and the great outdoors awaits; head off onto the fells, take to the water or explore some of the cultural offerings that are all around you.
Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.

The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and comfortable and there is a very high standard of linen, decor, fittings and features throughout the house. Liquid hand soaps, moisturiser, shower gel and shampoo are all exclusively from the Bath House in Ambleside, which is a nice touch. It was if the hosts had thought of absolutely everything guests might need, from the spare umbrellas to a multitude of kitchen utensils and cookware (very handy for making Christmas dinner!) On arrival we were delighted with the unexpected and very welcome Christmas themed hamper including, cake, mince pies, Prosecco and red wine. The welcome pack was very helpful and informative, the Wifi worked very well for those who needed it and the two separate communal living areas with large TVs were very comfortable. The parking bay is a good size for a large car and I found it easy enough to reverse out again onto the quiet road at the back of the house. A special thank you to Janet, the housekeeper who lives locally, for being so helpful with a couple of queries on arrival and particularly for contacting me after our stay to help locate and return a couple of items we had left behind! I would definately recommend this house stay to others and we are already thinking of returning again sometime in the future.

The space, the decor, the cleanliness and the location. The owners made us feel very welcome by leaving us a Christmas card and welcome snacks. I will definitely be staying here again. We had a great time. The extra living space was great for my two young nephews who called it their âman caveâ. Thank you âºï¸

Thereâs Too many pans, serving dishes etc so little room for groceries. The wine glasses are terrible there was also only x1 gin glass. But these are just niggles and easily fixed.
