Guests consistently praise The Gallery for its cleanliness, prime location in Grasmere, and overall comfort. The property is well-equipped and appreciated for its homely feel, with several guests expressing a desire to return. Some minor maintenance issues and suggestions for updates are noted, but these do not significantly detract from the positive experiences.
Reviews frequently commend the property for its high standard of cleanliness, with many guests specifically mentioning how clean they found the apartment upon arrival.
The location is highly praised for its convenience and proximity to local amenities, making it an ideal base for exploring the Lake District without the need for a car.
The majority of guests find the property comfortable and cosy, although a few mention the beds and sofa could be improved. The comfort of the mattresses appears to be subjective.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the addition of a Smart TV and EV charger noted positively. However, some guests mention minor maintenance issues such as skylight handles and the efficiency of the fridge, which slightly impacts the score.
While guests have mentioned receiving chocolates and wine, which indicates thoughtfulness, there is not enough consistent information across reviews to accurately score this category. It should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed.

Live unforgettable moments with your loved ones on an exciting escape to the Cumbrian Countryside at The Gallery.
Situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park is the lovely village of Grasmere, probably best known as the home of William Wordsworth, a place he once described as "The most loveliest spot that man hath found". Any visit to Grasmere needs to include The Grasmere Gingerbread shop, where the Wilson family have been making gingerbread for over 60 years. Also in the village are a number of shops, pubs, a church which dates back to the 13th century and Grasmere Lake, plus Grasmere Sports takes place every August, where you can watch participants compete in a variety of sports, including Cumberland Wrestling. Just five miles away is the town of Ambleside and Lake Winderemere where you will find shops, pubs, restaurants and the 17th century Bridge House, which is one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District. Cruises, boat trips and watersports can all be enjoyed on Lake Windermere and the towns of Windermere and Keswick are also within driving distance. Grasmere is a wonderful base for your Lake District retreat.

The property is very well appointed and furnished and is in a wonderful position in the centre of Grasmere with its own parking place. A couple of things to bear in mind though: if you are over 6 feet tall you will have to be careful to avoid head injuries with the low slope of the roof - we had to use the twin single beds in the back room due to the danger of knocking yourself out if getting up in the dark. The shower is very efficient but also very slippy underfoot (could do with a slip-mat) and, bearing in mind how much has obviously been spent on the property, surely the budget could have stretched to some decent clothes hangers - the few that were provided looked like they had been picked up off the floor of TK Maxx! Other than these observations, The Gallery is superb and I would not hesitate in recommending to anyone - we'll certainly be back.

Grasmere is a beautiful village and an ideal centre for exploring the Lakes. The bus connections make the use of a car during the week unnecessary. The Gallery is a superb place to stay with all the facilities you require including an EV charger. The owners are so welcoming and helpful. Always sad to leave and looking forward to our next visit already.
