Dunmallet is a well-received cottage praised for its cosy atmosphere, pet-friendly approach, and stunning garden with river views. Its prime location in Penrith offers easy access to local amenities. While some guests found the space challenging for larger groups, the overall experience is cherished, especially for its outdoor features and cleanliness.
Guests consistently noted the cottage was very clean, contributing to a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
The location is highly praised for its convenience, being a minute's walk from local pubs and shops, and offering a peaceful setting with a beautiful garden and river views.
The cottage is described as cosy and comfortable, though one review suggests it may be too small for six people, indicating that it is more suitable for smaller parties.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with ample equipment and utensils. However, minor issues with seating, dining space, and maintenance niggles slightly affect the score.
While guests express overall satisfaction with their stay, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the owners, hence the score cannot be determined.

Fabulous cozy cottage in amazing location. Very well equipped, perfect for our 4 night stay. Refreshingly pet friendly, the owners are clearly doggy people and unlike some “pet friendly” accommodation our furry friends were allowed upstairs as long as we adhered to the “paws on floors” policy which was perfect for us!! The cottage is a one minute walk from the bars and shops in the village, and the garden is spectacular in the autumn so I can only imagine what it’s like in the summer, backing directly onto the river with spectacular views!!!! Would definitely recommend this holiday accommodation!

The only reason I gave 3 and not 5 in places was because we found the cottage overall to be too small for 6 people. tThere was not enough seating for 6 people in the living room or for dining at the kitchen table, although there was plenty of equipmemt and utensils for many more. The third bedroom was only a single bedroom and although we managed with the pull out mattress from under the bed ( there being 2 small children as part of our party of 6 ), I cannot see that 2 adults would fit into the room comfortably as there was no space for anything else..even standingroom or a wardrobe or drawers. The cottage is really lovely, but I think it should be advertised accommodating 5 people ( not 6) or at a pinch 4 adults and 2 very young children.

What a beautiful little cottage this is, cosy and comfortable with everything you need for a lovely stay. The garden is enclosed so safe for pooches but the star of the show for us was that magnificent view at the rear, made even more special by the seating area at the water edge. Waking up to that view on a morning was just fabulous, even when raining it was just quite simply beautiful, hoping to return soon.
