Guests say

Flaska House is a well-received cottage in Cumbria, praised for its stunning views, spaciousness, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests enjoyed the conservatory, the cosy log fire, and the property's suitability for both families and pets. The location is ideal for exploring the Lake District, with easy access to local attractions and walks.

Most guests found Flaska House clean and comfortable, though there were a few mentions of specific cleanliness issues such as unflushed toilets, dirty bowls, and a need for better pillow hygiene. These seem to be isolated incidents rather than a general trend.

The location is highly praised for its beautiful views and proximity to hiking areas and local attractions. It is described as a perfect base for exploring the Lake District, with guests loving the rural setting and the wildlife.

The house is generally considered very comfortable, with spacious rooms and cosy living areas. However, some guests mentioned the beds being too soft and pillows needing replacement, which slightly impacted the comfort score.

The property is well-equipped with a range of facilities that guests appreciated, including a well-stocked kitchen and a log fire. Some maintenance issues were noted, such as a broken microwave plate and a stiff front door lock, but these were minor compared to the overall positive feedback.

While guests appreciated the welcome card and Prosecco on arrival, there are not enough references to consistent thoughtful gestures or gifts to accurately score this category. It should be noted that such gestures are appreciated but not guaranteed.

The kitchen diner has been fabulously done and is a real hub, and the sun room perfect for watching the red squirrels! The house on the whole was well kept, clean, and the kitchen well stocked. As others have said, the beds really do need attention, they're very springy and loud - good nights sleep is what you need after a day out on the fells but unfortunately wasn't what we got. We reported the bathroom sink hardly drained, and the radiator in the blue gable end room wasn't working; LL said they would send someone out, but nobody came. The gutters are extremely blocked with leaves, which I guess is leading to the leaks previous guests have reported, though we didn't experience any while we were there. If the beds get sorted we will definitely be back.

Everything was perfect. Beautiful setting, beautiful cottage. Fabulous facilities from the garden to the kitchen, bedrooms and even games and books too. We will definitely be looking to come back again soon.

It was spacious and had beautiful surrounding views just as shown in the pictures. The kitchen dining area was our favourite as we could all be together in the large and comfortable space. Just a couple things to note, on arrival there was a slight mix up with the cleaning of the property, but this was quickly sorted. We managed to find another tea towel, but only one was provided, a second definitely is needed. The beds were very soft and could do with being replaced as they have moulded to sag where people sleep. However, none of this spoilt our time at Flaska House and we would definitely recommend.
