Walk to Glenridding, 1.5 miles away, to board a steamer and enjoy the serenity of the lake from the water. Stop off on your boat cruise at famous Aira Force Waterfall, 4 miles from the house, for more stunning scenery and to see if you can spot red squirrels.
Climb Helvellyn, England s third highest mountain, approximately 3 miles from your base, during your stay. Open the heavy front door on to this incredible stone house to find impressive original features and boutique hotel style interior design. From the striking reception hall, with its timber panelling and stained glass find a useful WC then wander through into the lounge, with its exquisite leaded windows and remarkable fireplace. Light the open fire in here and switch on the Smart TV, with DVD, or head on through to the spacious snug/dining room instead, where a wood burner sits in another gorgeous fireplace and you can play games in its cosy glow or gather round the table together for holiday and celebratory meals.
Also on the ground floor are the kitchen and breakfast room. Whip up hearty feasts in the kitchen, with its stone floor, Rangemaster, double fan oven, with six gas burners, American style fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Serve up in the dining room or the breakfast room, which also has a stone floor and wood burner. The house also has a laundry space, with washing machine and tumble dryer, and a useful boot and drying room. Climb the splendid staircase up to the first floor to discover the five sumptuous bedrooms. These include the master bedroom, with king size bed, woodland views and en suite bathroom, with WC, freestanding bath, shower enclosure and twin handbasins.

Find two family bathrooms, each with baths with showers above, WCs and handbasins, also on the first floor. Explore the three acres of glorious garden at the house to your heart s content. Look for wildlife in the woodland, dine on the covered terrace, light the BBQ and have supper under the pergola as the sun goes down. Keep an eye on children when out in the grounds as the woods are open to the surrounding fells in places.
