The Lodge in Greystoke is highly praised for its comfort, cleanliness, and prime location for exploring the North Lakes. Guests appreciate the secure garden for pets, the proximity to a welcoming local pub, and the peaceful village setting. The property's cosy atmosphere, complete with log burners, and the thoughtful welcome pack contribute to a delightful stay.
Guests consistently note the property's spotless condition, contributing to a comfortable and welcoming environment. One mention of a vacuum cleaner not fully picking up dog hairs suggests a minor area for improvement.
The Lodge is celebrated for its quiet village location, with easy access to Penrith, Keswick, and the North Lakes. The local pub and village amenities add to the charm, making it an ideal base for exploration.
Reviewers frequently commend the property for its comfortable furnishings, including a cosy lounge with log burners and a comfortable bed. The spacious and relaxing atmosphere is highlighted, although one mention of the conservatory being cold suggests a slight area for improvement.
The Lodge is equipped with a large kitchen, pleasant conservatory, and secure patio, with guests mentioning the convenience of the facilities. However, a few minor comments about missing items like a measuring jug and champagne flutes indicate room for enhancement.
Guests are touched by the welcome pack, which includes treats such as biscuits, milk, and wine, adding a personal touch to their stay. It should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every visit.

Completely secure for our dog. Conservatory very warm for eating in. Excellent location between Penrith & Keswick - easy to get to the A66 & onwards. Boot & Shoe in the village a definitely worth a visit (or 2!).

We had a fantastic stay and I wouldn't hesitate to book again. From the moment we walked in we felt at home, the property was spotless and a lovely hamper was left for us. The property itself is well worth the money and rating. It is excellently appointed, spacious yet homely. There is no excess clutter and each room is tastefully decorated in keeping with the property. The gardens are lovely and the house backs onto a forest area that is part of the Greystoke Castle estate. The property sits at the edge of the 'village', a 2 minute walk along the road and had a shop/post office, swimming pool and pub serving home cooked meals. The house is comfortable enough to stay in without needing to go out, however we like to visit the area. Penrith is a 10 minute drive and is full of local amenities and some nice restaurants, we can recommend 'La Casita' (Spanish tapas) and Four and Twenty (contemporary British) as well as Chapter 12 tearooms for a great scone! Things to visit nearby: - outdoor swimming pool (1 minute from the cottage in walking distance) - Alpaca Walk from Base Camp North Lakes (18 minutes from the cottage) - Boat cruise from Pooley Bridge pier (20 minutes from cottage) - Breakfast by the river in Pooley Bridge at Granny Dowbekin's (20 minutes away) - Keswick town centre (25 minutes away) - Lake District Wildlife Park (30 minutes away) - Abbots Jersey Ice Cream park (18 minutes away) - Aira Force waterfall walk and tearoom (15 minutes away) We had a wonderful holiday, the best in a long time, I'd wholeheartedly recommend this cottage for it's comfort, luxury and cleanliness - the cottage was spotless! If you're looking for a peaceful, relaxing stay with the option of short journeys for activities. Look no further. I couldn't have asked for anymore! Thank you to the owners for having us.

The conservatory and the little court yard off it is a pleasant sun trap. Good pub in village and another 1.5 miles away. Easy access to Penrith and surrounding countryside. Highly recommended.
