Guests say

Thwaite Bridge House is a characterful and well-equipped cottage in a peaceful rural setting, ideal for family breaks and exploring the southern Lakes. Guests appreciate the property's charm, spacious garden, and conservatory, though some noted issues with cleanliness and maintenance.

While some guests found the property to be a comfortable and enjoyable stay, there are notable concerns regarding cleanliness, including reports of dirt, flies, and potential bed bugs, which suggests room for improvement.

The property is praised for its rural charm and proximity to Lake District attractions, offering a quiet retreat while still being accessible to Windermere and Coniston, making it a favourable location for many.

Guests generally find the cottage cosy and spacious with a well-stocked kitchen and comfortable beds, though some taller individuals may find the shower facilities less accommodating.

The property boasts a range of amenities including a well-equipped kitchen and a variety of books and games. However, issues with maintenance such as lighting and a tilting cooker have been raised.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, therefore this category cannot be scored.

Another wonderful Christmas week in one of our favourite cottages. So rich in character and it feels like a home from home. Beautifully equipped and well located for the southern Lakes yet away from the crowds too.

Great place to stay in the lakes - rural so not much on your doorstep but that is what makes it special - only a 20 minute drive to Windermere / Coniston and other highlights
