Within walking distance of countless amenities and Lake Windermere, this property is ideal for a family holiday or small gathering of family and friends. Furry friends are welcome too! Step into your new home away from home to find a homely sitting room with ample seating, a Smart TV and an attractive woodburning stove which takes centre stage, helping to create a relaxing ambience. When it’s time to eat, the kitchen/diner has everything needed to produce hearty food for the whole family with a rustic dining table and chairs, the perfect spot to pull up a chair and tuck in.
Should the sun be shining, the rear patio garden is ideal for sitting out and soaking up the sunshine. This is the beauty of Acorn Cottage: it’s a holiday home for all weathers whether it’s curling up in front of the woodburner in the winter or enjoying the sunshine in the courtyard in the summer. When it’s time for bed, guests can choose from a twin and a king-size on the first floor with a fabulous second-floor king-size which has a gorgeous roof light where you can watch the stars from the comfort of your bed. In the morning after a healthy breakfast, you’re ready to get out and about exploring.

Walks, hikes and bike trails aplenty can be found in Grizedale Forest with Fell Foot Park and Scott Park ideal for some fresh air. The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.

Very comfy beds and lounge. Great showers and lovely having a bath!!! The kitchen is small but has everything you could want. Very convenient for Bowness restaurants and shops. Would stay again!!

Cottage has everything you need for a lovely relaxing break away and the welcome hamper was such a lovely touch. The closed garden was ideal for our dog and after forgetting her food/water bowl it was great to see spare dog bowls already there along with a dog bed!!! I would highly recommend staying here either as a family or as a couple and we will definitely be booking to stop in this lovely cottage again. What a fantastic stress free weekend away.. thank you!!!
