Jaspers Retreat in Bowness-On-Windermere is highly praised for its stunning views, luxurious comfort, and excellent location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and thoughtful touches such as welcome gifts. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is of a beautiful and welcoming holiday home that guests are eager to return to.
Most guests found Jaspers Retreat to be clean and comfortable. However, a few mentioned the need for a more thorough cleaning, including vacuuming upon arrival and pet-related cleanliness in the garden. These seem to be isolated incidents rather than the norm.
The property's location is central and offers stunning views, with easy access to local amenities and attractions. The steep road to the property is noted, which may be a consideration for those with mobility issues.
Guests consistently report that the beds are comfortable and the property is cosy, with spacious bathrooms and a warm atmosphere. Some minor issues with bedroom and en-suite doors being noisy were mentioned.
The facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and luxurious touches. Some guests suggest that maintenance could be improved, with comments on wardrobe handles, toilet seats, and decking needing attention.
Guests have mentioned welcome gifts such as wine, biscuits, and hand soaps, which add a thoughtful touch to their stay. However, as gifts are not consistently referenced across all reviews, it is politely noted that such gifts are not guaranteed.

The final two bedrooms are found just a few steps down from the entrance hall. The master bedroom with en-suite, a divine family bathroom with walk in shower, and third bedroom with super king size bed which can be made up as a twin. Be sure to request this in advance. Both of these rooms have sliding glass doors that open on to a large patio overlooking the local countryside.

There was a range of ages in our party. Myself and my husband and our 23 month old. There was also both sets of grandparents ranging from from 70 to 80 years, and 2 dogs. The house was beautiful and spacious, and has everything you could need. Gorgeous views across the lake and beyond and lovely outside furniture if you get nice weather. Itâs quite a steep hill to and from the cottage but thereâs a gentler route, if you turn left down the first bit of hill when coming out of the cottages street and then turn right onto a side street, it brings you out at a childrenâs playground and The Angel Inn pub and itâs not so steep to head out on foot. We had an issue with the hob not heating up and we tried everything, Sykes were really quick to get someone out to us. Turns out the big blue pan is not compatible with an induction hob, so really it needs removing so you doesnât happen again. The house has lots of board games which was great and the sky glass tv had movies and sports and Netflix so it was perfect for relaxing after a long day. We absolutely loved our trip and will definitely be back to Jaspers Retreat.

The house itself was stunning and very comfortable. The views over Windermere were just amazing, even though the weather didn't always play ball.
