Warner Lea is a spacious and charming cottage in an excellent location, just a short walk from Bowness and Windermere. Guests consistently praise its convenience for exploring the area, comfortable bedrooms, and homely atmosphere. The property is well-equipped and ideal for groups or families. While some maintenance and cleanliness issues have been noted, as well as occasional challenges with parking and heating, most guests enjoyed a relaxing and memorable stay in this lovely setting.
Several guests found the property clean on arrival, but there were repeated mentions of dusty areas, cobwebs, dirty utensils, and neglected outdoor spaces. Some bedding and crockery were not up to standard, and a few guests noted the need for a deeper clean.

This old world, terraced character holiday cottage handsomely nestles in the heart of a conservation area leading towards Biskey Howe, yet stands only a stone’s throw away from the village of Bowness. The property has been lovingly decorated and furnished with a warming multi-fuel burner in the living room to enjoy after a long day exploring. Internal features include quality oak style and carpeted floors, well proportioned bedrooms and bathroom, oak designer kitchen, and much more. Bowness-on-Windermere is one of the most beautiful natural areas in the UK, and is largely seen as the jewel in the crown of the Lake District. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy golf, walking, hiking, climbing, water-skiing and sailing, or simply cruising down the lake on one of the authentic steam boats. The village of Windermere is just 1 mile away, while Ambleside, Coniston and Grasmere are all with easy reach. Or why not take the car ferry that still crosses the lake between Ferry Nab and Ferry House, and provides a convenient approach to the western side of the lake for access to the villages of Hawkshead and Sawrey. A Lakeland treasure in a peaceful part of the village, Warner Lea is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Shop, pub and restaurant 400 yards.

Lovely cottage lacking a bit of love, lots of cob webs in the lounge and bedrooms. Very dusty behind the sofa in the lounge. General decor looks a bit tired however I guess it’s difficult to improve when the cottage is booked out so much. Parking tight due narrow road but did manage to reserve onto the drive. Well equipped cottage and excellent location, easy to walk to shops, pubs and restaurants.

Hot water was luke warm so I turned it up at the boiler, but had to turn it down again because the mixer on the shower does not let cold water through. Explained the situation to the agent, but all they did was call round and turn the water temp up again, which I then had to reverse again so that people could shower. I also explained that the dishwasher doesn't work, but they never even replied about that. So we had to boil the kettle to wash up using the very small sink and dish rack. Othera have complained about the water/shower in tha past, but they don't seem to want to fix it properly. There were large 'craters' in the master bedroom matress, making it very uncomfortable. The taps, window latches and some of the windows need attention. Nowhere near enough toilet rolls or bin bags were left, so we had to buy some. Smell from the soil pipe comes into the toilet windows because it has been totally botched A saucepan handle was very broken and dangerous. We arrived to find a threshold strip sticking up a few inches at one end and people were catching their feet on it until I tripped on it and it came off altogether. The doors have cheap catches, making them impossible to open and close quietly when others are sleeping. The toaster was missing floors in two of the four slots and a bracket had come off inside the oven; these two problems were dealt with the following day, but surely should have been spotted in advance. It's a nice house, but very poorly managed.
