Guests say

Getaway offers a spacious, well-equipped and dog-friendly stay within walking distance of Hemsby’s sandy beach. Guests appreciate the comfortable furnishings, enclosed garden, and peaceful off-season atmosphere. The property is praised for its convenience and thoughtful touches, though some mention minor cleanliness issues, privacy concerns due to the adjacent footpath, and the surrounding area’s appearance. The location is quiet but can be tricky to find, and the garden is ideal for pets and children. Overall, guests enjoy the comfort and amenities, making it a popular choice for families and dog owners.

Several guests found the property generally clean and tidy, but there were repeated mentions of dust, dirt around edges, an unclean oven, and a cutlery drawer needing attention. Some outdoor areas, such as the garden and picnic table, also required more upkeep.

The property is praised for its proximity to the beach and local amenities, but the approach is via a narrow, unpaved lane and some guests found the area less appealing due to derelict surroundings and nearby caravan parks. The location is quiet, especially off-season.

Guests consistently mention the spaciousness and comfort of the house, with good furniture and beds, though a few found mattresses soft or squeaky. The property is suitable for those with mobility issues and is appreciated for being dog-friendly.

The house is well-equipped with kitchen essentials, WiFi, and a large enclosed garden. Some maintenance issues were noted, such as inconsistent hot water, grass needing mowing, and the need for more attention to detail in cleaning and outdoor upkeep.

Guests appreciated welcome packs with fruit, biscuits, porridge, milk, tea, and coffee pods. While these thoughtful touches are valued, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

The chalet was big, nice and clean, the kitchen was well equipped, the longe/dinner was ok, the mattresses were unfortunately very soft. The view opposite the chalet was a plot of land with a derelict building and and a very old unsightly caravan. There was no hot water at the start of the holiday, I phoned the owner who gave me instructions how to fix the problem, which took a few attempts, thankfully it wasn't raining as the equipment was outside at the back of the property, I had my small dog with me the decking was quite high for her and the grass had not been cut making it difficult for her.The location was down a dirt track narrow road, arriving at the property which had large pebble gravel area at the front to drive onto, it was not easy to walk on, impossible to push a pushchair. There is a dirt/gravel footpath next to the side fence, unfortunately people can look straight into the property no privacy, we kept the curtain across the patio doors and the blinds nearly all the way down. The sat nav couldn't find the location, we had to ask locals for directions.

The accommodation itself was fine, attention to detail is needed, dust and dirt around the edges of the rooms. Shower with bath was dirty along with the window sill. Opposite the house was a shack and the road to the property is not a road but a dirt track. The walkway adjacent to the property was overlooked and we had to keep the blinds closed to stop the dogs barking. The grass needed cutting also. The area of the property has a caravan park either side and there were youngsters on scooters up and down at all hours. The house at the back had fires every day so we had to keep the filtration system off which meant the house was very warm. It’s a shame really as if you sorted out the few issues and move the house it would have been perfect. We won’t be returning because of the above

A spacious, well appointed comfortable bungalow. Eco friendly. Hubby has mobility issues and managed very well. And so well situated for the entertainment and the beach. Beach is beautiful and the real bonus is its all dog friendly. About 10 mins away. Path a bit stoney but not unmanageable.
