About this property
One for the bucket list? A unique opportunity to stay a very cool, stunning fully refurbished Grade II listed late Georgian windmill tucked away in the pretty village of Harpley. A fabulous holiday retreat for two adults, with a difference!
Full of character, true to its age and former life, The Windmill has rounded rooms featuring exposed stonework, exposed beams, tall and low, some double-height ceilings, wooden floors and steep metal winding stairs to all upper levels. This is not one for the faint-hearted, but wow, gird your loins, climb to the top and just look at that stunning 360° view of the beautiful rural landscape that surrounds you, even reaching as far as the coast to the west on a clear day. Absolutely stunning and, with glorious sunsets to boot, it will take your breath away. Literally!
Fear not, all creature comforts and mod cons have been catered for to ensure all your needs will be met. On the ground floor is a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room, so no need for fumbling or stumbling to find the loo in the night. Up the stairs on the first floor, is a niche, cosily furnished sitting room. Take the next set of stairs to a smart hand-made fitted kitchen, with a perfectly formed dining area for two. And, finally, the top floor pièce de résistance: a fantastic viewing gallery - just the place for a sundowner to drink in the most spectacular view.
Outside to the front of The Windmill is a compact, stepped courtyard garden, and an allocated parking spot on the shared driveway. Beyond that is a hard tennis court, available for all guests to use, by arrangement with the owners who live nearby.
Subject to availability, larger groups of six to ten people could consider also booking one or two of the neighbouring properties - Wallower (sleeping 4), and Fantail (sleeping 4)

The Windmill is strictly for adults only. Please note there are no alternative sleeping options than the king-size bed.

Due to the nature of the building, all the stairs are very steep (hand rails provided).
Not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
Please bring your own pods for the Nespresso coffee machine (standard pods).

Thank you, we have had a wonderful week here at The Windmill. What an amazing place to come to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary. We were so looking forward to coming here as a special treat. You have exceeded all our expectations. We love the attention to detail, and yes it's been said before - WOW! We have explored the coastal paths, the Sea Shanty Festival at Brancaster, and eaten far too much! Slept like logs. Lots of happy memories to add to our 50 years together! Thank you.

We really enjoyed our stay in Harpley Mill. One of a kind, very comfortable and has everything you need. Would like to say that as a retired civil engineer of over 40 years experience, the finish and attention to detail on the mill is first class, and the workmanship top notch. This is a unique place and we wish you all the best for the future. A truly fantastic and very memorable stay. Thoroughly enjoyed everything, especially the views from the observation level.

We have had an amazing time! The windmill is fantasitc, quirky and attention to detail is incredible. We can see how much thought, time and patience that must have gone in to this. Beautiful surroundings and of course the star of the show is the viewing area. Loved it so much and was up and down those stairs just to take it all in again. I am sure we were fitter than we were before we arrived. Thank you for making this a magical place to stay & the first time i've stayed in a windmill on my birthday!
