The Old Bunkhouse in Ringstead is a well-loved cottage praised for its peaceful location amidst nature, comfortable and well-equipped living spaces, and thoughtful touches like a generous welcome hamper. It's an ideal retreat for those seeking tranquility and proximity to wildlife, with easy access to the coast and local amenities.

There is insufficient information in the reviews to accurately assess the cleanliness of the property.

The location is consistently described as peaceful, beautiful, and perfect for nature lovers, with easy access to the coast and local shops. The abundance of wildlife and quiet surroundings contribute to a highly positive experience.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with a cosy and homely feel. The property is well-equipped, providing a comfortable base for families and couples alike. The only minor discomfort mentioned relates to the inability to open certain windows.

The property is praised for being well-equipped and comfortable. However, points are deducted for the lack of EV charging, a non-cold enough fridge, and the absence of a washing machine. These are minor issues but suggest room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.

The generous welcome hamper and helpful information leaflet are appreciated by guests, indicating thoughtfulness. However, as gifts such as hampers are subject to change and not guaranteed, this score reflects the positive mentions without setting an expectation of receiving such gifts.

About this property

Tucked away in a quiet corner of the working organic farm Courtyard Farm in Ringstead, this hideaway is a wonderfully private retreat. Well-known as a haven for walkers and wildlife, just three miles from the popular seaside destination of Old Hunstanton, and close to many charming villages and beaches, The Old Bunkhouse is perfectly situated to explore all that this stretch of the Norfolk coastline has to offer. For more information on Courtyard Farm see the owners website.

The accommodation is centred around the light, open plan living area, comprised of kitchen, dining table and sitting room. Having maintained many attractive elements of the original the building, the modern comforts provide everything that you would expect from a rural retreat. Suitable for a romantic break or for a family looking to escape to the countryside.

With all rooms located on the ground floor, the two en-suite bedrooms can be found either side of the open-plan living area. Both are served by their own bathrooms, with the king-size bedroom featuring a useful little study. The bathrooms include one with a bath and a second with a shower, making this a convenient choice for a family with young children, or for a parent looking to enjoy a good soak!

Outside, the special nature of the location cannot be ignored, with a mixture of pasture and grassland bordering the property. The owners are able to provide guests with access to various walks through the organic farm, which then take you further towards the coastline between Old Hunstanton and Thornham. Great for walking, bikes or birdwatching. With direct access to the sitting room, you will find a french dining set so you can enjoy those hazy summer evenings. There is also off-road parking for two cars.

Perfect location for people who like to walk and in our case with our dogs. Total peace and privacy and undisturbed for the whole week. Bliss. Close to quaint villages and excellent hospitality all round. Convenient for local seaside towns and expansive unspoilt beaches. Comfortable accommodation and lovely and warm. Took us a few nights to get used to what for us was a rather soft mattress. We enjoyed exploring the area and especially the areas where Admiral Lord Nelson spent his childhood. Would highly recommend this gorgeous little Bunkhouse if you want a quiet largely WiFi free and television escape.

A really quiet country location and very restful. It's close to the cost and we enjoyed the walks that that are on the farm. The only downside is no washing machine.
