Bittern Lodge in Cromer offers a comfortable and well-equipped stay with excellent country club facilities, including an indoor swimming pool and activities for children. Guests appreciate the quiet location, the surrounding wildlife, and the proximity to the beach and town centre. The lodge is praised for its cleanliness, spaciousness, and family-friendly amenities.
The lodge is generally described as clean and well-maintained, with only a minor note about the area behind the kitchen bins and the shower drain needing attention.
The location is highly praised for its quiet setting, proximity to Cromer town centre, beach access, and the surrounding wildlife, making it an ideal spot for both relaxation and exploration.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the lodge spacious. However, there is a mention of the second bedroom being cramped and the third sleeping space being difficult to navigate due to paddle steps.
The country club facilities are a highlight, with an indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, gym, and children's activities. Some maintenance issues are noted, such as the need for bathroom updates and a frosted ice box.
While the reviews reflect appreciation for the amenities provided, especially for children and birders, there is no mention of gifts, so it is not possible to assess the thoughtfulness in terms of gifts.

The North Norfolk coast is one of the United Kingdom’s best locations for birdwatching, having a remarkable range of habitats, from heath land and woods to coastal grazing marsh, reed beds and open beaches. Bittern Lodge contains a wide collection of books on birds and a log to record sightings. Guests can enjoy the nearby rspb and North Norfolk Wildlife Trust reserves at Strumpshaw Fen, Hickling Broad and Cley Marshes.
The charming seaside town of Cromer is 1 mile away and can be reached via a lovely cliff-top walk or the wide sandy beach at low tide, with a choice of steps or sloped paths leading down to the shore.
