We stayed at Manor Farm House from 17th to 24th October 2025. We booked this venue for a holiday away with our family. We have rented properties for this purpose previously and have always thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Sadly the same did not apply on this occasion.Upon our arrival the house had been thoroughly cleaned by the cleaning team who were very helpful. The house is very grand and well situated. Our stay was spoiled by a very large number of flies at the property. Despite constant spraying and sweeping up of the flies, there were always more. These were in virtually every room and covered floors and surfaces. The kitchen was also affected and we found dead flies covering the work surfaces and window sills. Our sons left early, they found the flies in their rooms very disturbing. Our poor 5 year old Granddaughter had flies all over her floor, on the surfaces and window sills, and in her bath. She found the flies buzzing around and landing on her when she was in bed particularly distressing. I contacted the PA of the owner who stated that they were not a hygiene problem and that we just needed to hoover them up. She did not offer to come and take a look or ask the cleaning team to attend. The house is seriously in need of an update. All of the carpets are very worn, some threadbare, and very stained. The house is not suitable for young children and is not fitted out as such. There was no proper welcome pack provided on our arrival. We were supplied with tiny poor quality hotel type toiletries. We had to wait 5 days after our departure for our security deposit to be returned. We would not recommend this property nor would we stay here again

It is very restrictive and short-sighted not to allow electric vehicle charging at the house. The nearest charging point for us was at Tesco in Fakenham (about 2 miles away). More realistic these days to make an allowance for the use of electricity with meter readings at the start and end of the hiring period. The house was very well equipped with cutlery, crockery, games, jigsaws. The games room was a great hit (need a supply of 50p pieces for pool and air hockey), and the gym and table tennis were well appreciated. Lots of wildlife around and we even spotted a kingfisher on the water along with hundreds of tadpoles in the pond. There's lots to do in the area for all ages and we scarcely scratched the surface so hope to be back again soon.
