Guests say

Seagulls is a well-placed cottage in Holt, offering outstanding views over the Blakeney marshes and easy access to local amenities. Guests consistently praise its spaciousness, comfort, and suitability for families, children, and nature lovers. The large garden and thoughtful touches for children are frequently highlighted. While most reviews commend the cleanliness and well-equipped nature of the property, a minority mention dated decor and occasional maintenance or cleanliness issues. The property is especially popular with birdwatchers and those seeking a traditional family holiday in North Norfolk.

Most guests found the property spotlessly clean and well maintained, though a small number noted dust, cobwebs, and bathrooms in need of attention. The majority of feedback is positive, but there are isolated concerns.

The location is highly praised, with beautiful views over the marshes, proximity to Blakeney Quay, and easy access to local shops, cafes, and attractions. Ideal for exploring North Norfolk and enjoying nature.

Guests describe Seagulls as comfortable, spacious, and homely, with good heating and a welcoming atmosphere. Some mention steep stairs and dated decor, but overall comfort is a strong point.

The cottage is well equipped for families and children, with toys, a large garden, and a telescope. Facilities are generally praised, though a few guests mention retro features and minor maintenance issues.

Some guests appreciated touches like milk and juice on arrival, and thoughtful provisions for children. However, welcome gifts are not guaranteed and not all guests received them.

We booked seagulls knowing it had a retro kitchen which we enjoyed but we did not expect the rest of the house to be really tired with unhygenic bathrooms( photos available )Our visit was in March, the heating was set to strict on/off times 6 am-8 am and 4pm to 10 pm. Bathrooms were then cold at 9 am and living areas rapidly lost heat. There were strict instructions (" it is forbidden" ) not to alter these time frames. ( photos available )A log burner was available with logs, but no kindling, or firelighters and 4 matches, we had to purchase all of these to stay warm. The house was not particularly clean, dust / cobwebs in evidence in many areas ( photos available )There was no welcome pack - just some milk and juice. Its always a nice touch to receive this - as it says a welcome !The garden is fenced/ walled but only secure for VERY small dogs and the short cul du sac is off a busy A road. It was also very muddy. The field at the rear was unsuitable and the exercise field " in front of the house " required a walk along the main road to the west, pavement not fully available and impossible at night.Having used Cottages.com on several other occasions we feel Seagulls is not up to the standards we expect from from your company.

Another wonderful stay at Seagulls. We visit in February for the birds that come to Norfolk in winter.Seagulls is a wonderful house to stay in: warm, comfortable, spacious and with wonderful views over the marshes from the upstairs sitting room. There are rarely any issues but if there are, the hosts are very responsive, helpful and friendly.
