Gather with extended family and friends and relax in your own private hot tub. Nestled alongside Dilham Canal, boasting waterside views, this quiet waterway, approximately 9 miles long, runs onto the market town of North Walsham. As well as private hot tubs, both properties feature a fantastic games room. In Canal View House (ref UK39363), cosy nights in can be enjoyed snuggled up by the wood burner, and the well-equipped kitchen offers the opportunity to dine in. There is also a private enclosed garden, perfect for al fresco eating and relaxation.
This is a great location to explore or simply relax and unwind on the comfy sofas, or maybe even enjoy a tranquil evening under the stars relaxing in the hot tub. There are opportunities for great walking and cycling to enjoy direct from the doorstep, having miles of footpaths and trails to explore, including local woods, footpaths, North Walsham, and in part, alongside the Dilham Canal.
Explore the excellent sandy beaches of the North Norfolk Coast or the Norfolk Broads. The seaside village of Mundesley, 4 miles, has an excellent sandy beach, and the seaside resorts of Cromer and Sheringham also house glorious sandy beaches and are host to many attractions. Cromer boasts a pier, with a carnival week which is held in August and, weather permitting, a spectacular New Year’s Day celebration, complete with fireworks. Sheringham is home to the North Norfolk Steam Railway, Splash fun pool and Sheringham Gardens. There are numerous bird sanctuaries, salt marshes and wildlife centres that punctuate the region.
Wroxham, 12 miles, is known as capital of the Norfolk Broads and has daily boat hires and river trips available, riverside cafés, pubs and shops. The market town of North Walsham, 2 miles, is perfect for guests to visit the supermarkets, shops, cafés, library and bank, as well as the vast bistro and gourmet eating establishments in the surrounding area. Enjoy a trip to the city of Norwich, 16 miles, where there is a fantastic castle museum, cathedral, excellent shopping, theatre, art galleries, cafés, pubs and restaurants.
Places of historical interest and stately homes can be found within easy driving distance, and Blickling Hall boasts open air concerts during the summer season. Perfect for entertaining the younger generations, these properties are also close to Banham Zoo, Wroxham Barns craft centre and play park, Dinosaur Adventure Park at Lenwade and Bewilderwood at Horning. There are also many places within driving distance, ideal for walking your four-legged friends, including Blickling Park, where you can also enjoy lunch afterwards at the local pub. Beach 4 miles. The property suited our family party well (ages 8 to 82). The games room was particularly popular with the younger generations! There were a few niggles, which a previous reviewer has itemised and whilst I agree with some of them it's all a matter of personal preference. I didn't particularly like the sofas but my daughter in law did. It was a little too remote for me and the road is rather dangerous for pedestrians. Also more information about what to put in the recycling bin would help and also notes about when they are emptied. There was no information on who to contact in an emergency either.

The beds were most uncomfortable, mainly due to the metal bed frames which creak with every little movement. The sofas look great online but are actually very uncomfortable. As a result I came back with a bad back. The fittings for the toilet rolls are so far back from the toilet that you have to twist backwards to reach the toilet roll and most of the fittings seemed loose. On the last day the one in the toilet by the front door came off the wall when I changed the toilet roll!The doors could do with oiling as they creak very loudly.There were an excessive amount of wine glasses with not enough standard glasses for water or juice. We were a party with four children and had to wash up glasses as we went along - the ratio needs to be addressed. The fitted doors on both fridge freezers were detached from the actual fridge freezer doors so you had to effectively open and close 2 doors each time you used them.Some small maintenance issues which could and should be fixed.The “shower mats” made of synthetic material are completely useless and need to be replaced. All the showers need attention - some have leaks between the glass and the seal and all are badly designed with the shower screen not being wide enough, leading to water flooding out onto the floor.
