This fabulous wooden lodge has a cosy open living/dining/kitchen/bedroom area, boasting a Smart TV and comfortable furnishings and fittings to ensure you will feel right at home. There is also a large patio door leading out to your decked area, complete with a fire pit and a wood-fired tub. Boasting views over the picturesque countryside beyond, it makes the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee whilst you plan your day.
There are many great places worth visiting in the surrounding area, including the nearby Roman town of Corbridge, filled with quaint coffee shops and boutique shops, along with a beautiful river walk and the Roman wall for the history enthusiast. Just a few miles away, you will find the Terris Novalis, two striking pieces of sculpture relating to the old steel works of the town. Walking enthusiasts will enjoy the many walks around the town of Shitley Bridge, Derwent Resoviour which sits on the edge of the Pennines. Whilst cyclists can take the Coast-to-Coast cycle route, taking in many lovely views. While Durham is 20 minutes away and Newcastle city centre just a 30-minute drive, this is the perfect location for those looking to experience the northern culture.
Surrounded by acres of grounds and fields, there is also a full-size tennis court, which visitors are welcome to enjoy. If you’re in need of getting away from it all and spending some downtime surrounded by nature this is just the thing! Shop 5 miles, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

Our stay at fox lodge was lovely ,Comfortable surroundings and very peaceful with just the sheep making a noise!Given the close proximity of the 2nd lodge we were unsure of how residents in there could potentially impact the peace had it been occupied .Wonderful welcome basket and enough milk for a brew or 2.Dressing gowns were super helpful for use after the hot tub (and something we are now investing in for ours at home)A couple of useful additions would be - some taller glass tumblers (Prosecco glasses were great , but other tumblers would be useful too)Replacement plastic tumblers would also be good for the hot tub as the others are well loved We also noted the shower not draining as well on our last day, we did message the owners to ensure they were aware in the hope this didn’t hinder the next guests stay but there was no acknowledgment therefore not sure if they noted this .

Fox lodge was lovely, would highly recommend for a stay , was quiet, friendly sheep but noisy 😄 , saw lots of kites flying around wish we had taken our binoculars with us .Was welcomed by Philip lovely man.Places easy to get to around.Thank you.
