A lovely dry field with an excellent view to the west. Communication was good and the owner and family were friendly and helpful. There was an enclosed outside area with table and chairs and a 'washing machine' fire pit and logs provided. This is not luxury glamping but the bed settee was reasonably comfortable, there was a good sized camping stove with two burners and a good supply of pans, crockery and utensils and everything was clean. The communal toilet and shower was basic but functional and clean. The site is close to the Derwent Walk and other footpaths. But it is also relatively close to the facilities in Newcastle and so suited us perfectly for the weekend. We did have the site to ourselves.

This a basic camping pod on a campsite, comfy sofa bed, gas cooker with crockery suitable for use. Shared shower room with other campers which was clean as well as a sink for washing up in. Take your own bedding and towels as not provided as on the accommodation description. For a weekend this is perfect retreat if you want a tent upgrade, what made it was the fantastic views over the valley.
