Lovely place to stay, well equipt, warm and comfortable. Beds super comfy as well! We were lucky to have sunny weather in March so were able to spend time in the garden looking at the amazing view. Loads of walks around although be aware of stiles if your dog is too big to lift and too old to jump over like mine. There is a lovely walk heading up the river to West Blackdene and beyond. We enjoyed the Golden Lion in St John’s which takes around 20 minutes down the lane and across the bridge. Thursday was open mike night, it was great! It’s a one track road to the hamlet and even narrower as you turn to access the drive. Doable in my small car, but there is parking on the right as you arrive in the location.
