Barforth Hall Dairy is a rustic cottage set in the tranquil Yorkshire Dales, offering a peaceful retreat with stunning countryside views and friendly farm animals. Guests appreciate the secure garden for pets, the wood-fired hot tub, and the property's potential for a cosy, family-friendly stay. While some guests have concerns, the charm of the rural setting and the opportunity for walks and interaction with nature are consistently praised.
Cleanliness has been a significant concern among guests, with several reports of the property not meeting expectations in terms of tidiness and hygiene. Issues such as unclean kitchenware, cobwebs, and presence of flies have been highlighted, impacting the overall experience.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity and stunning surroundings. Guests enjoy the rural setting and proximity to walking routes, although some have noted the remoteness and difficulty in accessing the property. The peaceful environment and scenic views contribute positively to the experience.
Comfort receives mixed reviews. While some guests find the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable, others mention issues with heating, hot water, and general upkeep that affect their comfort levels. The presence of farm animals and secure outdoor space for pets are comfort highlights.
Facilities and maintenance are areas of concern, with guests reporting problems with hot water, outdated information guides, and maintenance issues with the hot tub. The wood stove and provision of wood are appreciated, but the overall state of facilities requires attention.
There is insufficient information to accurately assess thoughtfulness as it pertains to gifts. While some guests mention chocolates and a Christmas tree, there is no consistent reference to welcome gifts or extra touches that would indicate a standard practice of thoughtfulness.

After reading the reviews after booking was a bit reserved about what to expect when I first arrived postcode took me wrong way so if going input boat lane in sat nav first impression was really good place was clean had a little smell when first entered opened a window for 5 minutes no problem after that probably due to age of cottage board games need updating as most are missing things plenty of wood and lovely hosts beds a bit soft for my liking everything else was good

It was a nice place to stay for a weekend - could do with a bit of TLC to the garden area and indoors , but the rooms were all clean and beds comfy. Didn't use the log fired hot tub - personally i get rid of it. could do with another bench for garden . Thanks .

They had noted the images on the web site advertising your property where quite old and do not reflect the property in its current state. They had said it smelled of damp, and there was no internet access (which they require for work). I had not read any reviews of the property (my mistake), I have since read the most recent review of Feb 2024, which highlights my points. I think you should be updating your advertising images and tidy the property up. I think itâs fair to say that reviews after 2022 seem to be quite disappointing. Visitors are paying good money to stay at your property, I think the least they deserve is a property well cared for and looks like the images on the site. You could do better.
