However, the property itself was extremely disappointing. Anyone who chooses to stay at the property must consider taking pretty much everything one might need at home including towels, soap, detergent and toilet rolls. We were left with one toilet roll for a property that sleeps 6, some ice cubes, and a half pint of milk that had gone off. The front door was difficult to lock and unlock from the inside and so, in the end, we had to leave it unlocked. The TV did not work because the aerial connection was loose, there was no light working in the bathroom upstairs bathroom (and no spare bulb), and there was an unpleasant odour from the washing machine. Considering the number of cobwebs in the property, we were left with the impression that the property had been moth-balled from last summer. There are stunning views from the property but the garden area outside was a little untidy and overgrown. The property certainly did not offer value for money.

Very comfortable accommodation, good sized rooms and homely. Disappointing to find no toilet rolls had been left for us, nor washing up cloths/sponges. We loved sitting outside in the small garden to look at the beautiful view. The sitting area does need tidying up, weeds around our feet. The grass area needed a mow too. It would be good to have a proper table and chairs to sit around rather than a picnic table. The garden was enclosed which was very good for our young dog. So positives and negatives for us. Overall though, a very enjoyable stay in a beautiful area.

However we were really upset to find the cottage filthy. It looked like it hadnât been cleaned at all. The surfaces were all dusty and dirty, there was rubbish left in the bins from the previous tenants. The floor hadnât been vacuumed and there was dog hair all over the sofas that ended up on our clothes. Even the bedding was crinkled up and we werenât sure whether the sheets had been changed. We contacted the company to complain and they said they would send someone to bring over a vacuum and clean, however there was no contact after that and nobody ever showed up. My step mum was very upset as she had spent the days prior to the holiday deep cleaning her own house - to then arrive at Apple Orchard and start cleaning again. Very poor service with no help or care at all from the company responsible. Do not stay here. We would like to be compensated for this.
