Along the way, soak up unforgettable views of Northumberland’s coast and look out for puffins, dolphins and other rare wildlife offshore. Once at the castle, spend time at Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Course or Embleton Beach (both 3 miles), always with the dramatic sea as your backdrop. In the opposite direction, enjoy a cheerful afternoon at Howick Hall (2.5 miles), exploring its grand estate and fabulous gardens.
