A perfect base for couples or small families wishing to explore coast and country. This spacious single storey cottage is furnished and equipped to provide comfortable accommodation. Giving a warm welcome with its cosy open fire in the living room, the kitchen is bright and airy and well-equipped. A large farmhouse table makes the perfect place to gather for breakfast or supper. There are three bedrooms and a bathroom with a bath with overhead shower. Outside is a pretty cottage garden with patio and table and chairs to sit and enjoy this peaceful and tranquil setting.
Snowshill is located about 2 miles north of the historic market town of Alnwick.This is a superb area in which to base your holiday as the surrounding countryside is wonderful. With the wild and lonely expanses of the heather-capped Cheviot Hills to the west or to the east, the beautiful 20-mile stretch of Heritage coastline, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Just two miles away is the historic market town of Alnwick with its castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland (and film location for Harry Potter’s Hogwarts), and is a popular visitor attraction. Take time to visit Alnwick Gardens, a spectacular interpretation of a formal garden, which includes a grand cascade waterfall and poison garden, as well as a restaurant set in the largest tree house in Europe! Don’t forget to visit Barter Books, and experience the second hand bookshop, set in the former railway station building which has open fires, interactive mural, model railway and café.
On the coast, just over 6 miles away is the picturesque coastal village of Alnmouth, where there is a beautiful stretch of beach, variety of good restaurants, pubs, tea rooms and gift shops, a great place to head with the family. Within a short drive are Craster, Dunstanburgh Castle and Newton by the Sea, where you can watch harbour life, shop for kippers, visit the historic castle ruins or take long walks along stunning coastline. At the end of the day return to your rural retreat for perfect relaxation. Beach 6¼ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

Fantastic place to stay right in the middle of places to visit . Richard and his wife Susan are very nice people and make you very welcome as a working farm the place is very interesting me my wife and our spaniel had a great time and would definitely book it again

Had a fine relaxing break in August 2026. This is a very spacious cottage, located on a busy farm next to the owners residence. Plenty parking available.The equiptment and comfort are very good. Some redecorating here and there would be improve things a little bit. Being away from any towns the farm feels like a sanctuary away from it all, beautifully peaceful and calm. There is great outside space and seating and areas for short walks with any Dogs (need to be kept on leads at all times). You just need to be careful coming in and leaving during daytime while farm activity is ongoing.There is very good access via A1 and local roads to all the attractions on the coast and Alnwick itself. Plenty shopping options in Alnwick.Owners left a lovely home made chocolate cake which we enjoyed thank you. (you can purchase more).
