We were welcomed by the owner Jeremy who gave us a quick tour and showed us how everything worked. There was a lovely welcome pack for us and the house was decorated for Christmas. The kitchen had every utensil and dish I think we could ask for. The setting was great and really quiet which was what we wanted. The sunrises and sunsets were gorgeous and because there was little light pollution the amount of stars at night was breathtaking. The cottage was well situated for Alnwick and there were lots of fab beaches nearby. We have been to Northumberland several times before but have tended to stay nearer to the sea. Being inland with very few buildings nearby was a refreshing change. We would definitely consider booking Newton Retreat for a future visit so we could enjoy the outside space, weather permitting. A great place to relax and unwind.

This is a beautiful and very private property. Ideally situated for the coastal and inland activities, with so much to do with a 30 minute drive. The owner was friendly, approachable, quick to deal with any queries and knowledgeable about the area. I would definitely stay again.
