Guests say

Nettie's View is a spacious and well-located cottage in Amble, praised for its proximity to the harbour, pubs, and restaurants. Guests appreciate the ample parking, smart TV, and comfortable lounge. The property is described as a great base for exploring Northumberland, with a warm and homely atmosphere.

The cottage's cleanliness has received mixed feedback. While some guests found it spotless, others noted a need for a deep clean, mentioning cobwebs and a yard in need of attention. The shower cleanliness and kitchen tidiness were also points of concern.

The location is highly praised for being peaceful, yet close to local amenities and the harbour. It serves as an excellent base for exploring the beautiful beaches and shops of Amble, contributing to a positive experience.

Guests have found the beds comfortable and the living spaces homely and spacious. However, some guests mentioned that the beds could be improved and the outdoor furniture was uncomfortable, suggesting room for enhancement in comfort.

Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable furnishings. However, maintenance issues such as a broken dishwasher, slow-draining shower, and lack of window keys have been consistently noted, indicating a need for improvement.

While some guests were impressed with the extras provided, such as welcome packs, others noted a lack of basics like toilet roll and washing up liquid. There is no consistent mention of gifts, so it cannot be confirmed if these are a regular offering.

Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. Had to call due to a problem was sorted within 1 day. I put the stay at a 4 only because, we felt the shower needs a non slip floor. Also hand rail both sides of the stairs. We loved the location never a problem parking. Short easy access to town.

The shower needs to be looked at. It takes ages to drain the water away and it would be helpful if there was a soap and shampoo shelf or basket within the shower. The location was very good and the rooms were very spacious. The kettle should be replaced and the outside space, although it was advertised as just a bare yard, was exactly that and the back door mat needs replacing. We felt it could be made to be a super house but needs some cash throwing at it, but then the owners could charge more for it. A catch 22 situation.
