On the first floor you'll find a spacious king-size bedroom with solid oak furniture, a TV and en-suite shower room, and a second double, serviced by a bathroom and cloakroom.

Bamburgh is a delightful, seaside town boasting a selection of tasty eateries, pubs, a butcher, and a deli, where you can stock up on essentials and try out local produce. Visit the historic Bamburgh Castle, towering over the impressive beach, and learn more about the local history and heritage, or spend an afternoon browsing the RNLI Darling Museum. There are many walks throughout the area, ideal for those who love to immerse themselves in the breath-taking countryside and coastal scenery, including Bamburgh Coast and Hills, Bamburgh Beach, and St Aidan’s Dunes.

Alternatively, guests can head over to Seahouses where there is a golf course and sandy beach. Travel to the incredible Holy Island and be amazed by its array of wonderful historical sites, including Lindisfarne Priory, Lindisfarne Castle and a museum on local history.

All of this to be discovered and so much more with a stay at Darling Cottage.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.

The cottage is very warm, spacious and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is well equipped, the showers are hot and powerful, the beds are comfy and it's a very quiet area. We loved it so much we have already booked to go back, Twice!

The house is very spacious, well furnished, comfortable and immaculately kept. The location is ideal for walking to the amenities, beach, park and the castle etc in the village of Bamburgh and for exploring Northumberland. We had a fantastic half term break with two young kids and will definitely be returning.
