Guests say

Elliot Cottage in Bamburgh is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its cleanliness, cosy comfort, and superb location. Guests appreciate the well-appointed kitchen, comfortable beds, and the quiet, central village setting. The cottage's charm and the inclusion of parking are noted advantages. While some minor maintenance issues are mentioned, the overall experience is one of a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Guests generally found the cottage to be clean and well kept. One mention of the lounge carpet needing vacuuming suggests a slight oversight, but this appears to be an isolated incident.

The location is consistently praised for being excellent, quiet, and central within the village, making it an ideal base for exploring the area.

The comfort of the cottage is highlighted by guests, with particular compliments on the comfortable beds and cosy atmosphere. A single comment about an uncomfortable chair suggests room for improvement.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-stocked kitchen and good standard of decoration. However, points are deducted for maintenance issues such as the extractor fan, toilet seat, and garden upkeep.

There is no consistent mention of gifts or extra thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category. While there is a single reference to a bottle of wine no longer being provided, it does not provide enough information to assess overall thoughtfulness.

Make the most of your stay with Elliot Cottage.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.

Very clean and welcoming when we arrived. Super to have log fire in the evening. Quiet, Central location.

Excellently situated to enjoy the delights of North Northumbria. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

If I were to be picky I would say that the rattan chair in the lounge is not very comfortable for a prolonged time (say in an evening) compared to the other seating in the room, but that’s a minor comment. Great position for walking and getting out and about, quiet at night and very helpful to have designated parking in such a busy place.
