Kittiwake Cottage in Budle Bay is praised for its beautiful location and views, cosy atmosphere, and proximity to nature and beaches. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen and the charm of the traditional cottage. However, some concerns about water pressure and the lack of modern amenities are noted.
Most guests found the cottage clean upon arrival, with a few exceptions noting areas that could be improved. The overall impression is of a well-maintained property, though some guests suggested that certain items and areas could benefit from more thorough attention.
The cottage's location is consistently lauded for its stunning views, peacefulness, and easy access to the beach and coastal paths. Its proximity to local attractions and nature makes it a highly desirable spot for visitors.
Guests describe the cottage as cosy and comfortable, particularly praising the fire and the bedroom. However, some guests experienced issues with inadequate heating during colder months and found the furniture and bedding to be dated, impacting the overall comfort level.
While the kitchen is well-equipped, significant concerns are raised about the water pressure and the absence of a shower, which affects the functionality of the bathroom facilities. The maintenance of the property's exterior and garden is also mentioned as needing improvement.

Fall in love with the coast of Northumberland with a stay at Kittiwake Cottage.
The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.

No instructions as to putting out the rubbish, we split it into 3 black bags, general rubbish, cardboard and glass, cardboard and plastic, which we left notes on. I had an accident with a couple of wine glasses, which I left money and a letter to say sorry. We striped the bed as requested, hubby had to collect all the s**ders. ( I am petrified) It is a lovely cottage, with beautiful views, could do with tiding up.

The cottage was ideal and located in peaceful location, inside was so neat and cosy with nice views over the bay, just down the path and you're on beach or coastal path. Could be back. Arthur & Norma from Wirral Merseyside

I do feel you need to take up to date photos of outside and inside of the cottage, as they bear no relation to reality or the current photos on your internet site. On arrival I was very disappointed first impressions of the cottage was scruffy and that was even before I opened the door. On stepping in side we felt the cottage was not very welcoming cold dismal. Apart from kitchen we found the cottage very shabby and in need of all new furniture the leather sofa dirty down the arms and broken, it was like sitting in a hole. The bed smelt funny the bedding wanted burning including the pillows and quilt. As for asking us to leave the kitchen stuff clean, well it wasn't clean when we arrived the first 4 dinner plates were dirty and a small pan. The kettle was leaking and in need of a good descale. We bought a new kettle on the Sunday morning, which we took home with us. Had I known the cottage was attached to several other cottages I would not have booked it, perhaps this should be reflected on new outside photos. The cottage attached to our cottage was like grand central station we did know who was staying there, at least 6/8 people were coming and going not to mention the 2 BARKING DOGS they were sneaking in and out. All in all not a good stay but the views and location were good. Please bear in mind this is our personal view which you have asked for.
