Heron House is consistently praised for its warm, cosy atmosphere and superb location with stunning views. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities, thoughtful touches, and the helpfulness of the host, Elizabeth. The property is ideal for both beach and town access, with some minor comments about parking space size and a suggestion for a baby gate.
There are no specific mentions of cleanliness in the reviews, so it is not possible to provide a score for this category.
The location is highly regarded for its proximity to the beach, town, and local amenities, with guests enjoying the lovely views and easy access to dog walks and the harbour.
Guests find the cottage comfortable, mentioning a cosy atmosphere and a well-stocked kitchen. The property is described as clean and tidy, contributing to the overall comfort.
The property is praised for being well-equipped and having a large bathroom with a powerful shower. However, one comment about the need for an additional baby gate suggests a slight deduction for facilities and maintenance.
Guests are delighted with the thoughtful touches, such as a welcome basket and set dinner table. While these gifts are warmly received, it should be noted that such personal touches are subject to change and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

The perfect place for a relaxing weekend. The house was so warm and cosy and had everything we needed. The location, right on the water was lovely. The host was excellent at keeping in touch. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be going back

We've been here twice and enjoyed it both times, and we would visit again. It's on the dock road, but this was never a problem to us, there are plenty of places to walk the dog from the front door and it's ten minutes to a great beach at Spittal to the South, or into Berwick to the North. Parking is on the road outside the house unless you have a small car, but never a problem. The house is clean and tidy, with everything you need. A small utility as you enter is perfect for boots, coats and dog cleaning. The kitchen/diner is great, and the living room ideal. Good bedrooms upstairs, and a large bathroom with powerful and roomy shower, with a free-standing rolltop bath. The rear yard is enclosed and private. Plenty of shops and places to visit within reach.
